Athlete & Philanthropist

Why She’s Amazing

Ella Malzahn doesn’t want to be a princess. She wants to be more.

Ella combined her love of athletics with her giving nature to become the youngest SoleMate ever for Girls on the Run. The SoleMate program helps to raise money for girls who can’t afford to participate in Girls on the Run. For her incredible efforts, Ella was recognized at the Girls on the Run national conference.

We had a chance to ask Ella a few questions. Something tells us that this amazing girl is just getting started!

“If you believe in yourself, you can.” – Ella Malzahn

Q & A

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up and why?

A: No one has ever called me princess.

A: My mom was a coach for Girls on the Run at my school, and I signed up for it because I knew she was going to coach. And I wanted to be a Girls on the Run SoleMate to help raise money for girls who can’t afford to be in the program. Also, I was the youngest SoleMate ever for Girls on the Run.

Q: Do your family and friends support your interest in both of these areas?
